Torre dos Clérigos
One of the highlights (literally) on the day of the visit to the city of Porto, was the visit to the Church and Tower of Clérigos, an 18th century building, of baroque inspiration, located on an uneven street, but brilliantly used by Nicolau Nasoni, where we attend the concert of pipe organs “Portuguese”, the exhibition space, which currently houses the Christus collection. This exhibition, conceived from the donation of a collection by a private collector, reveals the passion for collecting, and tells a story complemented with objects, once of devotion, today considered cultural legacies of interest. They are large sculptures, paintings and jewelery that praise the meeting of art and faith.
The exhibition, spread over three rooms – Núcleo da Paixão, Viagem das Formas e Imagens de Cristo – invites you to travel through time and space, through image and devotion.
after climbing 225 steps and reaching the top of the tower, where the 360° view of the city is breathtaking!
Many thanks to the Brotherhood of Clerics
